James A. Sinnott, MD, FACP, FACG, AGAF graduated from Virginia Military Institute and served in the US Army prior to attending Saint Raphael at Yale-New Haven for Internal Medicine. Dr. Sinnott then attended Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan for postgraduate fellowship training in Gastroenterology. He has practiced as a Gastroenterologist at South Georgia Medical Center where he served as Chief of Gastroenterology and Chairman of Medicine.
Dr. Sinnott began serving as Chief Medical Information Officer in 2010. Dr. Sinnott has worked with the senior leadership at South Georgia Medical Center in adoption, governance and implementation of clinical systems. This role now includes physician advisor to Case Management and Utilization Review. Currently South Georgia Medical Center is engaged in moving to a new information system.
